On the morning of Dec. 8, 2003, a group of people gathered near the family home on N. One of the group saw a man leaning down, standing there in front of his parents. He looked real serious, the neighbor wrote in a recent report. The boy and his 10-year-old daughter walked to the boy's mom's house, looking for the boy's mother. When they reached the house, one of the girls told the man they wanted to kill his mother. He did not stop, however, and when investigators arrived he began punching the girl. He punched the girl in the forehead, the report says. One time, when she was about to be shot three times, he pushed her, causing pain in her upper forehead. He then continued to punch the girl and she was pinned to the floor, unconscious. A second report shows that the boy and his 11-year-old daughter were standing on the patio when shots rang out.
